Bystander to Lifesaver Training - Using a defibrillator.
This is a free workshop to learn how to use a defibrillator with the Community Lifesavers CIC a Kent-based social action not-for-profit project run by trained volunteers. The session will last 1 hour and consist of a short presentation and demonstration by some of the volunteer team then participants get the opportunity to practice this lifesaving skill for themselves.
We deliver free training in CPR and using defibrillators to Year 7 students in schools, the community, clubs, and businesses. Proudly turning bystanders into lifesavers.
80% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home. With immediate action bystanders can triple the chances of saving a life.
These are just some of the statistics: Only 1 in 10 out of hospital cardiac arrests survive in the UK; in Norway 4 in 10 survive. A factor for this is young people learning these lifesaving skills at school.
